Kudos to Alexis Flores (Steffen Middle School 6th & 7th Grade Teacher), Stefanie Myllymaki (Oriole Lane Elementary School 5K Teacher),  Joe Wu (Homestead High School World Language Teacher) and Suzy Zellmann (Homestead High School Research and Digital Learning Specialist). Huge congratulations to these talented two and all 77 educators who were nominated!

The annual MTEF Excellence in Education awards are given to educators who demonstrate exemplary leadership in the preparation of students for continued academic advancement at the elementary, middle and high school levels. An additional award was given to recognize a district specialist.

Recipients demonstrate good communication and leadership skills; exhibit a willingness to become involved; share their expertise with students, as well as peers; incorporate innovative teaching methods; and have a positive impact on students.

They each received a cash award of $1,000 in recognition of their outstanding service to students.
