MTEF Grant Awards target areas in technology, curriculum, and personnel to maintain the high quality education our children need for today’s 21st century global economy.
21st Century Mobile Technology ($93,746) This grant will ensure 21st Century student learning by providing iPads, Chromebooks, and Carts to our students in all six schools.
STEM: Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math ($44,023) This grant will provide print, science, and technology based resources for grades K-12. This equipment and resources can improve STEM learning and academic achievement for all students.
AVID Middle School Achievement ($38,230) The implementation of AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) at Lake Shore and Steffen Middle Schools will provide students with the understanding, skills, and knowledge necessary for college and career readiness.
Professional Development ($17,500) This grant is annual support for building principals to have discretionary funds to meet School Growth Plan Achievement Goals..
Advanced Placement: Ensuring Student College Readiness ($8,490) This grant will provide materials and resources for the new AP Human Geography class at Homestead High School. Additional funds will provide for AP testing support.
Modern Asian Language: Mandarin ($8,000) This grant will provide resources and materials for the implementation of Level 1 Mandarin at Homestead High School for the 2013-2014 school year.
Donor Designated Donations ($66,020) Individual donors have funded these grants to meet specific needs throughout the school district. The use of these funds is designated by the donor and includes funding items such as teaching awards, learning resources, and other technology related equipment.
Excellence in Teaching Awards ($3,000) Due to the continued generosity of our donors, we are able to award Excellence in Teaching Awards at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. Please refer to the Teaching Awards section to read more about this year’s recipients.
