EXCELLENCE IN TEACHING AWARDS
ELIGIBILITY AND SELECTION CRITERIA
The Range Line School Excellence in Teaching
Award is new this year and will be awarded to a member of
the Mequon-Thiensville Middle School staff who demonstrates
exemplary conduct in the preparation of students for high
school.
Award Description:
The winners of these two awards will each receive a check in the
amount of $1,000 to be distributed in June of the
current school year.
Any district staff member, student or parent
may nominate an individual. A Mequon-Thiensville School
District elementary or middle school staff member may also
nominate himself/herself.
Eligibility:
- The nominee must be a
current employee of a Mequon-Thiensville School District
elementary or middle school.
- The nominee must have
been employed as a staff member at a Mequon-Thiensville
School District elementary or middle school for at least one
full school year.
Selection Criteria:
Award selection criteria include, but are not limited to, the
nominee's leadership and communication skills, willingness to
become involved and share his/her instructional expertise with
students as well as peers, positive impact on students,
particularly in the promotion of academic excellence and
goodness.
The nominee should demonstrate a commitment to
mentoring students and colleagues. The nominee should be well
respected and recognized by his/her peers as one who goes above
and beyond normal expectations of his/her position.
Selection Process:
The Teacher Awards Committee, a committee of the
Mequon-Thiensville Education Foundation, will review all
nominations and recommend the award recipient to the full
Foundation Board.
