ANNUAL GIVING CAMPAIGN

The Annual Giving Campaign, a community-wide direct mail effort, is the Foundation’s largest fund-raiser, generating nearly 50% of total monies raised.  The Foundation has conducted an Annual Giving Campaign via mail each fall for the past eleven years.

Campaign 2008/2009 was extremely successful generating nearly $200,000 in contributions.  The support of our financial donors including individuals, family foundations, community members and businesses along with corporate matching gifts is sincerely appreciated

The 2008-2009 Campaign generated nearly $200,000.

TARTAN BALL

The Tartan Ball is a community-wide event that provides an opportunity for all members from the Mequon-Thiensville community to join together to celebrate our exemplary schools.

This year’s 10th Annual Tartan Ball was held at The Pfister Hotel with the theme “Reflecting on a Decade of Excellence”.  The event raised $125,000 in profits, including $35,800 through the Fund-A-Grant Voice Auction for SMART Board Interactive Classroom Packages.

This fabulous evening was supported by 406 guests, 14 Corporate Sponsors, over 200 silent auction items from 120 businesses and individual donors, $17,750 in underwriting support, $7,000 in donations from 31 neighborhoods, a Tartan Ball committee of 40 volunteers, and numerous other adult and student volunteers.  Such tremendous generosity shows a strong value of education and willingness to invest in the future of our community.

Our 11th Annual Tartan Ball will be held at The Pfister Hotel, on Saturday, January 30, 2010.  Please plan on joining us.

Tartan Ball 2009 raised $125,000 including the Fund-A-Grant voice auction!

TECHNOLOGY FUND PROJECT

The Technology Fund is the perfect opportunity for families and community members to donate to a specific technology project.  This year’s fund helped to double the number of SMART Board Interactive Classroom packages in the district, bringing our new 2009 total to 49 across our six schools.

Donations to this fund were made in one of three ways:  via the Annual Campaign, through the Tartan Ball Fund-A-Grant Voice Auction and by participation in our Technology Fund Spring Raffle.  Total proceeds including all three events exceeded $100,000.

Technology Fund donations more than doubled the number of SMART Board Interactive Classroom Packages in our schools in 2009.

M-T COMMUNITY 5K RUN/WALK

Our Third Annual Mequon-Thiensville Community 5K Run/Walk and Kids 100m Dash was a huge success with over 700 community members, parents, staff and students participating.  Thanks to the support of everyone involved, the event raised over $18,000 for our district.

Donges Bay Elementary School and Lake Shore Middle School were each awarded a “Golden Sneaker” Trophy for registering the largest percentage of students and staff at their grade levels.  Congratulations!

Our 4th Annual Run/Walk will be held on Sunday, May 23, 2010.  We hope to see you there!

The 2009 5K Run/Walk event raised over $18,000.

QUOTES

It is very important that teachers have an opportunity to grow and develop professionally. In these difficult financial times in our district, the fact that the MTEF is willing to donate money to each school for the purpose of staff development is deeply appreciated.”-MTSD Principal

I can’t imagine a more important contribution to our children’s future than a long-term commitment to MTEF. All of us must become more accountable for the quality and well-being of our schools in order to preserve our educational excellence for generations to come.” – MTEF supporter
