Dear Mequon-Thiensville
Community Member:
As a resident of
Mequon-Thiensville, you belong to a community that prides itself
on an exemplary public education system.
The Mequon-Thiensville School
District is a great resource for our community and is
consistently named as a primary reason families move to the
area. Our schools continue to rank among the best in the
state. However, outdated state funding laws limit revenue to an
amount less than expenditures, making this a fiscally
challenging time for the district. Increasingly, our district
depends on private donations to close the gap between the tax
dollars available and the funds needed to preserve the quality
education our community values.
Consider this:
-
The percentage of funds
the school district receives from Mequon-Thiensville
property taxes has declined consistently since 2000.
(Property tax records)
-
Studies show that
exemplary schools have a positive effect on property values
and attract families to communities. (Brookings-Wharton
Institute)
We invite you to show your
commitment to public education by joining your neighbors in
supporting our 11th Annual Giving Campaign.
Through a public-private partnership, we can keep the
Mequon-Thiensville School District a magnet for families seeking
a high quality educational opportunity for their children.
Whether you decide to give
$10, $25, $250 or more, your gift plays an integral role in
defining educational excellence in our school district as we
prepare our students for the 21st century global
world. Please explore your giving options by reviewing the
enclosed brochure and return your donor card with your
tax-deductible donation today. Let’s keep our community schools
strong.
Thank you in advance for your
generous support!

“As
a district, we have come to recognize that the most impact that the
Foundation can have is assisting us in reducing the overall budget
deficit and supporting our district’s greatest needs: personnel,
curriculum programs and technology.” - Dr. Demond Means,
Superintendent, October 2008
: “The MTEF grant to support the purchase of the
FASTT Math software will truly help elementary children develop fluency
with basic math facts. Developing fluency with basic math facts enable
students to focus on higher-order math skills such as advanced
computation, problem solving and algebra.” -
District Math Specialist, October 2008
